London - Lundy - Lundy Pundy - Pundy - Pundy Wundy - Pundle - The Pund - Bearsy - The Pundilator - Pundificous
Our beautiful, brilliant, kind and gentle London passed away on the weekend. Giles, Paris and I are devastated. She was not yet 5 years old, with her next birthday in November.
The vet told us that she died from a genetic condition called Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. It was sudden and she did not suffer due to how fast it happened. There was nothing medically that could be done for her.
London and Paris (A Tail of Two Kitties) are not just our pets or simply cats. To Giles and I, they are our babies. If you knew London and how much we loved her, then you will understand the pain we are in now.
Losing Pundy is the worst experience I have ever had. My heart is broken beyond repair.
London deserves more than just this but I had to write something now. There are many photos and stories which I will add later, when the world stops spinning.
If you get a chance, stop and think about her for a minute or two. This is from her Daddy.

More than meets the eye
Joe (a guy at work) and I are the biggest Transformers fans in the whole wide bCode, if not the world. He bought Optimus Prime from ebay and brought him to work so that I'd stop asking him to bring the toy to work. It took me a while but I got him transformed, except for his head popping up.
It was kinda sad that all the guys around me kept telling me to give it to them and asking why it was taking me so long. That whole testosterone stupidity always confuses me, no matter how long I work with blokes. They also don't even truly care about OP and probably wouldn't prefer him as Prime Minister as Joe and I would.
Either way, with the mean remarks or not, I had lots of fun so thanks Joe!!!

Harry Potter
The seventh and final book was a fabulous ending to the saga. As someone who has read every book as they came out, this time was no different. I stayed up all night, missed a friends birthday pub party and read the entire book. It was worth it.
What makes me a little sad is that so many people online are attacking people who put down the mouse, turned off the TV and read the book. It's a nice story. I read a lot of other books, newspapers, magazines and blogs, love watching TV and movies and have wasted a lot of my time online and out in the real world with real people.
Just be happy and nice.

My rating on tecnorati is 1,145,499. Disappointing.

Morons
The worst kind of moron is the one who is an expert in their field and believes that translates to your area of expertise.

The "Internet" is just a passing phase
Today I was advised by a software developer who mainly works commercially in C and C++ on Linux, that I should broaden my skillbase and consider moving away from web work since there is nothing interesting there. It would make me more employable too - which I didn't realise was an issue.
At first I was unsure of whether I should be offended or laugh openly. Now, I think neither. Let's sit back and let the future decide.
Are there any other developers out there who think this web thing is pretty much over?
And here I was thinking that only heroin is so passe.

Noodles and Vines
When I think noodles, I don't usually think of vines but Silk Road in Chinatown seems to think the decorations work. If you can ignore the fact that you are sitting beneath a grape ceiling and that the tables "can not be moved even an inch or the other tables won't fit", then you will enjoy the kebabs and noodles.
Mei, Rock, Giles and I spent less than $50 for the four of us and enjoyed two giant bowls of noodles in soup, braised lamb stretched noodles and lamb kebabs + corkage. It was well worth it and in the end, the grapes grew on me.

The Little Train That Couldn't
Apparently CityRail doesn't always remember to put the pins back in the roof hatches when they should and that leaves poor folk like me (there are thousands of us) to walk home across the coathanger. There has to be a planning problem if one train breaking down can cause so much disruption.
It did make me realise that it is not a long walk from work to home and that I should do it more often. At the moment, a friend and I are going to walk every Tuesday and maybe more when the weather warms up.

Sydney GPO
We went for a walk through the city as usual and scoped out the Sydney GPO. It's a cool building full of a lot of nice restaurants and shops. I will have to get a group of carnivores signed up for a dinner at Prime.
