How I work according to Subversion

According to Subversion and my boss who likes data and graphs, this is how I work during a week and at certain times of the day. This is based on data from our newly created (< 2 month old) repository.

I won't be voted off the island this week since I do 46.5% of commits in my team of 3 .NET devs. Of course I also win on lines of code changed and quality :o)

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you usually do releases on Fridays.

Am I right?

Yep. I tend to break up groups of work in to one week, where I start Monday and release Friday.

Others I work with are constant in their graphs. The same amount of checkins and work every day.

I would go even further out on a limb, and say that you spend most of Monday trying to work out what on earth you were doing last week :-) Especially if Friday night was particularly good.

What tool is being used to generate those reports? It'd be interesting to get that sort of thing here.

Noooo! Don't go there! Your manager will eventually see it and these things are to managers like shiny objects to crows.

They see this sort of thing and go "Hey! Numbers! It won't as hard if I just had a few quantifiable numbers..."

And from there's it just a few short steps from everyone being reduced to a cell in a spreadsheet.

In short, keep numbers, graphs and anything that generates such away from your managers. They just can't be trusted with them.

DK, I do a lot of starting on Mondays. Not the kind of stuff I check in.

Thanks to my lists and lists of lists, I'm far too aware of what work I need to do next.

Will get the link from the graphing boss and send if your way. Don't share it with your manager though.
