I've been using Flock for a week at work as my default browser and thought I'd wait awhile before commenting on it. As of today, I can declare that it is a great browser and a wicked idea.
It's Firefox and Safari combined and runs on Windows and Macs. About time! But the reason it really rocks is because of all the social browsing functionality it offers and the nice interface to it all.
As a Facebook user, it's fabulous access directly to your friends and in a more convenient way than Facebook provides. Try it for that if nothing else.
Now I'm just hanging out for my MacBook so I can install it on there and see how it plays.
Oh yeah, it's not as memory hungry as Firefox. It's fast!

It's been a while since I last looked at Flock. Back then, it's sole USP was the Flickr integration, but that was the best part of two years ago, so I guess it's moved on. Is its integration with Facebook any better than the Facebook extension for Firefox? (which incidentally really annoys me for its appalling grammar on status notifications - "Damana is now is doing stuff". Eeek!)
Out of interest, how do you define "Firefox and Safari combined"? I read that as "swappable rendering engines" (was it AOL or CompuServe who did a browser that could switch between IE and Mozilla?)
When I say a combo of my two favourite browsers, I mean that it has an awesome look and feel like Safari on the mac but it renders like Firefox... reliably and that would be because it uses the Firefox engine. Much nicer with memory though than the 'fox.
IMHO it's much better than the fb ext for Firefox. Have a go and compare. I know you are a loyal Firefoxer :o)
Hey Damana, I'm really loving Flock, it looks pretty, is easy to use and it's fast. I'm loving the People sidebar too. I've only been using it for today (now that I'm connected to the blessed internet again) but I'm pretty sold on it already.
Hi Annabel, I'm glad you like it. It's not cooperating when I try to add feeds to Google Reader but I'm working on that. Let me know if you stick with it.
Nowadays when i hear the word internet browser only one thing comes to my mind and fingers start pointing in that direction.. does it F12? and how well?? i love firefox's debugging capability!
